Rain Damage

Rain damaged concrete is an unstable substrate surface which can cause a great deal of problems (mostly financial), if left untreated. This type of surface can cause delimitation on Tilt-wall construction and create continuous dust problems and adhesive failures to carpet and vinyl installation over this type of base.

Treatment

Grinding the damaged sectors with the correct grade diamond disc will remove the puffy surface leatants providing a firm smooth surface. This process will provide security for tilt-wall construction, a sound surface for carpet and vinyl installation and will provide a better floor appearance.

Uneven Concrete Surfaces

Concrete installation can be (and often is) a kind of sudden death Russian roulette type game for the unprepared. There is seldom a second chance to correct those little errors such as one slab being just a little bit higher, or lower, than the previous one.

Humps and bumps are also commonly found on the surface when you come to install your carpet, tiles, wooden floor etc.

Treatment

Diamond grinding can in most instances, blend away these little level problems, to the satisfaction of the construction and the flooring installation people following behind.

Doorway Rebate Grinding/Sloping

Many factory/warehousing goods and service doorways are produced with a weather rebate to stop rain or floodwater entering the working areas. These rebates normally measure between 25 to 50mm in height and the doorway links into the front side of the section for added security.

The rebate system works well for weather security but causes many problems for forklifts, trucks and/ or wheeled trolley traffic when crossing the sudden lip.

Treatment

Diamond grind away the lip of the rebate to produce a wedged or sloped ramp allowing smooth un-troubled passage through the doorway.

NOTE: The sloped rebate will still provide secure weather proofing

Shower Base Rebating

A large percentage of people are choosing to have a tiled shower in their home now a days. This includes the floor of the shower which means you need to have a fall in the floor to let the water run away. Grinding can easily create the fall the tiler wants.

Treatment

This process can be done on new or old floors. The general pitch required is zero to 20mm
